Paranormal X
The Paranormal Xperience, or Paranormal X as I’ve shortened it, is an endeavor on my part to follow paranormal groups around with a camera and document their methods, findings and experiences in order to share with the world the different ideas, theories, and methodologies employed by the numerous investigation groups out there. Let’s face it, every week on TV we see the same ghost hunting groups doing the same things on each episode. That’s not to say I have anything against these shows, because I don’t. I just want to give the world a…different point of view.
In 2006 I started the South Eastern Paranormal Society, so I know all the hard work and hours of research and review that goes into running a group. Each group does things differently, has their own theories and goes about investigating the paranormal in their own way. Some use psychics, some use dogs, some use experimental equipment. I want to show the world these groups and highlight their differences.
I have also been the host of the SEPS Paranormal Podcast for the past 4 or 5 years and we have developed a following. I’m hoping that our audience will follow me over into this new endeavor. Paranormal X will be a web series that is geared strictly towards computers and portable devices; iPhones, iPads, smart phones, and tablets of all makes and models. The idea is, watch where you want, when you want. No forgetting to set the DVR, or running out of space. Just go to a web site, click a button and download, or better yet, set up an iTunes subscription and have each episode delivered as it’s released.
There’s a lot of hard work that needs to be done on this project and right now I am doing it all on my own, so it might take awhile to get my ducks in a row. And, as this is a work in progress, things may change until I come up with a formula for the web series that ‘works’. As it stands, I have episode 1 mapped out, a group and a location chosen and am working towards getting the episode recorded. Then comes the editing, etc.
What I am looking for now is twelve to thirteen more groups that are willing to take a chance and put themselves out there. If you are interested and think you have what it takes, fill out the web form below and let me know. I would like to highlight groups all over the USA but with gas prices and traveling expenses what they are right now…well you get the point. Could be difficult. But, given enough time and if the web series takes off…we will see.
The premise of the show is pretty simple. I will follow you around with a camera. What you show me is what I will show the audience. If you are professional, they will see that. If you are bizarre, they will see that too. Lol. You will choose the location and set everything up. You and your group will be responsible for all of the data and review. Basically what I am there for is to hold the camera and provide commentary. I will play any interesting video or audio evidence that you find on the investigation so the audience can experience it. Simple.
I would like to note here, that I’m not JUST looking for interesting groups that do their own ‘thing’. I’m also looking for locations that haven’t been over investigated. I don’t want to go to Waverly Hills or places like that. I would like to go to places that are fresh and original, like a haunted section of train tracks, or haunted vehicles like ambulances, bridges with a dark or grisly past. Somewhere original AND possibly haunted would be nice. If you have questions you can email me at producer@paranormalx.org.
What I’m looking for:
* An interesting group that has something original to offer.
* An interesting location that hasn’t been seen on every other ghost hunting show.
* A different approach (psychics, dogs, unusual equipment or methods).
* Entertainment value.
If you would like to be considered for the show, go here and fill out the web form.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you soon!
